Training Practice

Bydand Medical Group is a recognised GP training practice. This means that fully qualified doctors, who are undertaking further training in General Practice, may be working with us as part of their training. Their placements can range from three months to one year.

As part of their learning, trainee doctors may occasionally ask to record a patient consultation. Your permission will always be requested before any recording is made. You are free to decline, and this will not affect your care or consultation in any way.

If you agree to a recording but change your mind, you can withdraw your consent at any point, including at the end of the consultation.

We understand that some patients may feel uncomfortable about being recorded. If this is the case, please let us know before your appointment, and we will make alternative arrangements.

We greatly appreciate your support and cooperation in helping us train the next generation of GPs and maintain high standards of patient care.

Medical Students

As part of our commitment to education and training, Bydand Medical Group provides placement opportunities for medical students.

Medical students from the University of Aberdeen may attend the practice as part of their training. They may observe consultations with our doctors or, with your permission, conduct a consultation themselves under the direct supervision of a GP.

We will always ask for your consent before a student is involved in your consultation or care. If you would prefer not to have a student present, please let us know. You can change your mind at any time, and this will not affect the care you receive.
